The Kantian Duty-based ethics view on this is much more moral. This view would say that the ends do not always justify the means.
Every person is deserving of being treated humanely. The next theory, virtue ethics, could possibly advocate the use of torture if there was no other way to obtain the information from the individual and it was absolutely necessary.
From a Christian point of view, it is hard to advocate any form of torture. The only violence not condemned in the bible is fighting for your country or self-defense.
Torture is kind of in a unique spot if it is used for fighting for your country.
